A scale of the most painful places to get hit by a paintball
Paintballing is great craic and an activity that we all enjoy on stag parties but it’s important to note that getting hit with a paintball isn’t always the most pleasant experience. We asked some of our paintball goers if it hurt and mainly the answer was ‘no, just a bit of a sting’… but just like a tattoo or a piercing, there are some places that hurt a little more than others. We have narrowed down the top 5 most painful areas to get hit with a paintball so that you can be extra prepared when it comes to dodging the paintballs. So lads, here’s a scale of the most painful places to get hit by a paintball!
5. The Neck
Number 5 on our list is the neck. This is a sensitive area of the body. It is also quite near the face which can make it really obvious for someone to see a bruise, which also has the added disadvantage of looking like a hickey!
Tip: Try to find a mask that has full head and neck protection to avoid bruising if you get hit in this area.
4. The Inside of your Leg
Getting hit on the inner thigh is usually a result of kneeling down on one knee with the other foot still on the ground. This is one of the more sensitive parts of the leg.
Tip: Try to avoid kneeling, or if you are going to kneel then make sure to kneel on both legs so that way if you get hit it will be on the outer part of the leg which isn’t as sensitive.
3. The Back of the Head
This isn’t one of the worst places to get hit but it can leave players feeling a little disorientated afterwards for a few seconds. Safety goggles and a mask are provided so there is no need to worry about getting your eyes or nose hit as well.
Tip: Use the helmets provided to protect the back of your head. A lot of people tend to disregard this step but trust me you will thank us later!
2. The Groin
Number 2 on our list is.. ahem.. the groin (see how polite we are!). Not the best place for the lads. Especially if you have friends that like to be mischievous with their paintball gun aim!
Tip: Be a better paintball dodger and you won’t get hit… I’m just kidding! Invest in a cup and you can’t go wrong!
1. The Hand
Number 1 on our list is… the hand! From everyone that we have asked the hand topped the pole in the most painful places to get hit. Probably due to the fact that you constantly have your hands and fingers exposed because they need to be placed around the gun.
Tip: Wear gloves for protection. You can buy specialised paintballing gloves or you can bring a pair of your own. This will ensure that you have as much shielding from the balls as you need.
Bonus Tip: Wear boots that have a good grip on the heel. This will come in handy when you are dodging opponents! and whatever you do don’t be like this guy!
